John Maziarz has been with IPM since June 2003, when his family was approved to start deputation to go to Paraguay to work with one of IPM’s national missionaries. God saw fit to redirect the Maziarzs’ path in June 2006 when it was necessary for them to take in John’s mother-in-law. Simultaneously, IPM was looking to fill some upcoming critical vacancies in the home office. John started as the Assistant Finance Director in October 2006, and became the Finance Director in April 2007.
John got saved in 1983 while on active duty with the Air Force, and has served the Lord faithfully in the music, teaching, and financial ministries of several churches around the country. He spent 21 years in the military as the manager of several important development projects for the Air Force, retiring in 2003. During that time, he received a Master of Science degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1987, and a Master of Religious Education degree from Clarksville Theological Seminary in 2002.
As Finance Director, John oversees all of the funds that come in or go out of IPM, including stock and estate contributions. In each of the last two years, this totaled approximately $2.4 million. He reports to the IPM president and the IPM Board of Directors.
While John’s office duties do not permit him to be away for extended periods of time, he is still able to visit churches as a general representative of IPM. He is available to speak at mission conferences, and provide pulpit fill to churches without pastors or whose pastors must be away from their churches.
John and his wife Mary have been happily married (to each other!) since May 1981. They have four children. Matthew is married with one child and lives in Dayton, OH, working as a Christian school teacher. Jacob is on an extended college break but plans to complete a pastoral theology degree in the next two to three years. Bethany is in twelfth grade, and Hannah is in tenth grade.
If you are interested in having John speak at your church, or if you are looking for more information about IPM’s finances, please don’t hesitate to contact him at 717-637-7388, menu option 5 then menu option 1, or by email at maziarz@ipmworld.org.
